We are seeking a sharp, results-oriented
Land Agent – Negotiatorto work as an
Independent Contractoron key oil and gas projects. This individual will play a mission-critical role in securing mineral rights, managing negotiations, and navigating complex title issues. As the
primary point of contact for mineral owners, you’ll serve as both a dealmaker and a trusted advisor—balancing stakeholder interests with the objectives of our clients.
This is a
high-autonomy, high-accountabilityrole that requires strong interpersonal skills, contract knowledge, and strategic decision-making.
A top-performing Land Agent with Halo typically operates in a self-driven, highly organized fashion. Your work may vary from courthouse research to field visits, but here’s a snapshot of a typical day:
Open project management system to review your assigned tracts, messages from landowners, and current lease status
Conduct a Zoom call with the client’s legal team to clarify lease amendments and curative needs
Drive to meet a mineral owner at their property to review a lease agreement and explain financial terms
Analyze title documents and ownership history in preparation for curative work
Collaborate with your project manager on negotiation strategy for a multi-interest parcel
Follow up with attorneys and other stakeholders to finalize documents for signature
Respond to a landowner's questions via phone or email—maintaining trust and momentum even after hours
