- Negotiate, draft, and interpret various contracts such as JOAs, Oil and Gas Leases, ROWs, Farmouts, Letter Agreements, Surface Use Agreements, etc.
- Coordinate the securing of title work, including abstracts, title opinions, and associated title curative as it relates to surface and mineral ownership.
- Interpret, execute, and maintain contracts to ensure compliance with company obligations and governmental regulations.
- Supervise and perform due diligence on acquisitions and divestitures with other company disciplines and consultants.
- Direct brokers, surveyors and other consultants in completing projects such as lease acquisition, title work, damage settlements, ROW acquisition, etc.
- Communicate internally regarding ongoing projects, prospects, timeline strategy, etc.
- Serve as the company liaison with landowners, mineral owners, working interest partners, and governmental regulatory agencies.
- At least eight (8) years of progressive land experience with at least five (5) of those years being in-house.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Petroleum Land Management/Energy Management, or related is preferred.
- RPL/CPL preferred.
- Strong experience leading and directing field personnel (i.e. land brokers, consultants, attorneys, etc.) in development and exploration areas.
