PSE's New Product Development team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Project Coordinator position!

Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.


Job Description

This role sits within Puget Sound Energy's Street Light Maintenance team and is responsible for processing street light outages and other repair requests reported by customers. The Project Coordinator works with internal tools to research street light records and drives the issues towards resolution. This role requires strong customer service skills and is expected to provide updates to external customers through written and phone communication.

The Project Coordinator works directly under one or multiple project managers and is responsible for overall coordination, status reporting, financials, scheduling and stability of project-oriented work efforts. The Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that project goals and objectives are met within agreed-upon time, scope and resource requirements. Additionally, this role coordinates work performed by PM staff and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements and performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. This role coordinates elements of communication and change/process management related to project outcomes across the organization as appropriate.

The Project Coordinator upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities, as well as promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

- Under general direction of project manager, provides oversight and direction to team members.

- Facilitates communication between Project Manager, service providers and internal customers, including technical support at the direction of a project manager.

- Reviews and provides support and coordination on project-related documentation, technical memorandum, design plans, specifications, and other project related materials; and manages specific project related tasks as directed by the Project Manager

- Fields customer concerns and works with appropriate parties for resolution.

- In support of PMs or Senior PMs, facilitates technical assistance to internal and external customers.

- Applies basic project management concepts and practices.

- Tracks project milestones and deliverables and reports on project and program progress as directed.

- Support emergency response work as requested.

- Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

- Two year Associate’s Degree or better in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- At least two years relevant work experience.

- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to work as part of a team.

- Basic knowledge of cost estimating and scheduling concepts.

- Knowledge of utility methods, techniques and procedures involved in budgeting, procurement and contract administration.

- Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently, influence others and resolve issues.

- Customer-oriented, a positive, team-oriented attitude, flexibility, an understanding of the business issues driving the need for the project, and solid work ethic are expected.


Desired Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline.

- Experience managing non-complex projects or programs.

- Project management training.

- Strong communication and presentation skills and techniques to bring about agreement between divergent points of view. Ability to write clear, concise and direct narrative and reports.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills for single or multiple technical areas.

- Strong negotiating and critical thinking skills.

- Advanced Project Management Training and Project Management or Construction Management Certification from an accredited institution (PMI or College).

The pay range for this position is $70,200.00 - $99,800.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
