Summary:
The Marketing Manager leads and executes the development of marketing activities and strategies for brand needs across the Compass Minerals product portfolio (deicing, water care, animal and plant nutrition, food grade, industrial). These activities include, but are not limited to, brand development, digital and print advertising, website maintenance, content and collateral creation, packaging updates and tradeshow support. They will be responsible for ensuring a measured approach to spend, assisting with invoicing and tracking the budget for optimization. This position requires working in a fluid environment, prioritizing objectives, and having a positive influence on both direct and indirect team members.
Essential Job Functions:

- Manage brand development and identity, including trademark protection.
- Create marketing content and manage brand/product marketing strategies for digital, media/print, collateral, tradeshow banners and other marketing assets.
- Oversee the product packaging review and revision process, including collaboration with internal stakeholders, managing timelines, working with outside packaging partners, and demonstrating cost prudency.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including sales, product management, and customer service to provide requested marketing support.
- Work with external vendors, media partners and agencies on marketing asset creation and refinement.
- Monitor and communicate the landscape of competitors, partners, and relevant brands.
- Gather and report on data to support campaign and website analysis, insights and marketing planning.
- Create social media content to represent defined brand portfolios and products for corporate accounts.
- Provide tradeshow/event support to sales teams across the business as needed, including ordering promotional items.
- Assist with managing the marketing budget, including tracking and invoicing, providing feedback for cost efficiencies and budget optimization.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing or related field.
- Demonstrated management/content creation of print, social media, or other marketing assets.
- Manage multiple concurrent marketing projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met across cross-functional teams.
- Basic experience with website management, Google Analytics and SEO.
- Basic knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite required; moderate experience preferred.
- Strong communication, copywriting and proofreading skills.
- Willingness to collaborate across teams.
- Basic knowledge of copyright and trademark functionality.
- Experience working in a CPG or packaging environment strongly.
