Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible to support the Human Resources team in all aspects of the HR process and other daily functions.
- Review and validate department’s operational management manuals and make updates to documented procedures as required. Shadow members of the team to capture procedures that require documenting or updating and write up the processes for review.
- Support HR team with various project work including but not limited to; Employee Engagement initiatives, coordinating Learning and Development opportunities, Summer Jobs Exit Interviews
- Assist with employee recruitment (posting job openings, pre-screening job applicants, setting up interviews, reference checks, etc.) – as required
- Participateonthe Social Committee,offer new ideas to improve employee engagement and participation. Support planning and organizing activites
- Assist and support HR team with updating the Employee HR Portal in SharePoint; improve design and create content that is interesting and useful for employees and leaders
- Other duties as required
- At least 2 years, post-secondary education in Human Resources Management is required
- At least 1 year or equivalent experience in Human Resources
- Applied experience in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) in a professional setting and experience with calendar management in Outlook is a must
- Applied knowledge in SharePoint and MS Teams
- Strong oral and written communication skills and previous experience corresponding with a variety of internal and external stakeholders over phone and email in a professional setting
- Service-focused with positive attitude
- Ability to stay organized and maintain attention to detail while handling multiple deliverables and changing priorities
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner at all times
