The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources function across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, compliance, payroll, and day-to-day employee support. This role serves as a key operational partner to leadership and employees, ensuring HR processes run smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Coordinate end-to-end onboarding for new hires (offer letters, background checks, I-9 verification, E- Verify, system access, orientation).
Prepare and maintain employee personnel files (digital and physical).
Support offboarding processes including exit documentation, system deactivation, and final pay coordination.
Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and internal systems.
Process employment changes (promotions, salary changes, terminations, status updates).
Generate HR reports and assist with audits and internal reviews.
Assist employees with benefits enrolment, changes, and general questions.
Act as liaison with benefits brokers and insurance vendors.
Support HR Manager with bi-weekly payroll; reviewing timesheets, PTO balances, and employment changes.
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (I-9, E-Verify, FMLA, ADA, workers’ comp).
Support updates to HR policies and employee handbook.
Serve as a point of contact for employee HR inquiries.
Support employee relations issues by documenting concerns and escalating when needed.
Assist with investigations and documentation under guidance of HR leadership.
Coordinate training sessions, employee communications, and internal initiatives.
Support special HR projects and continuous process improvements.
- 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources or HR Administration.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes and employment compliance.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
