Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate accurate record-keeping, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across various accounting disciplines, including corporate accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and technical accounting practices.

- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.

- Perform account reconciliation tasks such as bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records.

- Conduct journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and accrual accounting activities to support month-end and year-end closing procedures.

- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and preparing audit schedules.

- Utilize accounting software (Quickbooks Enterprise)

- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial report writing to support strategic decision-making.

- Strong understanding of GAAP standards and regulatory reporting requirements.

- Proficiency with accounting software (Quickbooks Enterprise); experience with financial software is highly desirable.

- Experience with public accounting practices or private equity environments is advantageous.

- Excellent skills in financial analysis, financial report interpretation, and financial statement preparation.

- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and account analysis efficiently.

- Strong understanding of debits & credits, journal entries, accruals, budgeting techniques, and forecasting methods.

- Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues while fostering a collaborative team environment.

- Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
