Accounting Specialist - QuickBooks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.

- Balances account spreadsheets; matches and defines discrepancies between payments and amounts billed in system.

- Responsible for employment verifications, child support deductions, franchise tax board deductions.

- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed; totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases.

- Prepares invoices, checks, timecards, and other records and reviews for accuracy.

- Answers, screens, and directs incoming telephone calls.

- Sorts and distributes internal and external mail.

- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- One-year certificate from college or technical school, six months to one year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Computer skills required: Accounting Software (QuickBooks); Payroll Systems; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook)

- Other skills required:

- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures.

- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.

- Strong computer skills.

- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks).

- Commitment to excellence and high standards.

- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

- Acute attention to detail.

- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
