This position is responsible for ensuring payroll responsibilities are handled in a timely manner, with accuracy and confidentiality. This position requires the ability to work independently and prioritize duties to meet deadlines. This position must work together with the finance and HR departments.
- Manage and maintain payroll system including new employee setup, timesheet creation and manage employee deductions and allowances.
- Process a weekly hourly payroll and a bi-weekly salary payroll.
- Process and analyze payroll reports i.e. RRSP,EHT, etc.
- Identify, analyze and resolve any payroll issues.
- Process manual payments and cheques through payroll system.
- Reconcile payroll balance sheet accounts (taxes, CPP, etc.)
- Complete termination documentation and ROE’s.
- Create Payroll journal entries for Accounting.
- Process government remittances.
