The Payroll Administrator is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources and Payroll Department. This position will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of preliminary payroll reports, timesheets and speadsheets; assuring compliance with all applicable federal and provincial regulations and company policies.
- Update payroll system and (where applicable) electronic timekeeping system with all pertinent information for new employee set-ups. Department transfers, personal information changes, employment status changes, and payroll deduction changes
- Ensure hours are categorized and allocated to correct cost centres through the organization
- Accumulation of payroll submissions (salary and hourly employees) and submit the completed payroll to ADP
- Ensure compliance with organizational practices and policies withing the payroll program
- Prepare reports and remit employee and employer contributions to Group RPP&RRSP plan
- Prepare Records of Employment as requires, in accordance with legislated timeframes
- Respond to internal and external Human Resources related inquires from clients, department managers, business partners and other parties.

- Strong understanding of rules, regulations and legislation applicable to Canadian payroll administration
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proficiency with MS office applications
- Post-secondary education in Business or related
- 3+ years’ Payroll experience- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or Dayforce would be an asset
- Certified or in pursuit to obtaining Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification
