Education: Requires an undergraduate degree in an applicable field or equivalent experience
Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ manufacturing experience, as well as a general understanding of broad management information systems preferred. Experience working within an operational business unit is beneficial for this role.
- Lead implementation and sustainment efforts in the area of routine management across all business units at Logan Aluminum (operations and support)
- Strengthen continuous improvement efforts through focus on loss eradication (asset losses & system losses) and value creation
- Support both sides of the manufacturing excellence Infinite Loop (improve performance & sustain performance)
- Lead cross-unit improvement efforts and projects within all three (3) improvement domain horizons: Routine Management, Continuous Improvement, and Strategic Transformation
- Focus efforts based on areas of greatest loss and/or greatest value creation opportunity to maximize gains to the business
- Share and spread best practices observed between business units through the Strategic Transformation Team network
- Perform data analysis and lead / facilitate project execution of multiple improvements simultaneously
- Teach and train team members at Logan in areas of expertise, including but not limited to: Routine Management, Logan Capability Pathway, etc.
- Act as a role model for connecting all improvement work to Logan’s long-term strategic approach (THRIVE)
- Success in this role will be based on sustainable improvements made that positively impact OEE performance and reducing manufacturing cost per pound
- Provide project guidance and expertise to Support Units in their efforts to achieve their strategic visions for functional business / manufacturing excellence
- Focus on execution and identifying opportunities to enhance execution systems at Logan
- Integrate the Logan Improvement Framework (Define, Plan, Execute, Sustain) into all improvement efforts
- Spend a considerable amount of time engaging on the shop floor and directly with operational business units
- Leverage business intelligence systems to drive the importance of data-driven decision making
