Salary: Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
The Manufacturing Engineer is the driving force behind how we build. This role is responsible for supporting and executing customer projects by providing engineering design, technical support, and problem resolution. You will not just be sitting behind a desk; you will be on the shop floor supporting manufacturing teams, troubleshooting real-time production issues, and identifying efficiency gains to keep us competitive in a global market.
- Manufacturing & Production Support: Act as a primary technical point of contact for the shop floor. Support Production and Operations during the execution of customer orders, resolving hurdles in all operations.
- Engineering Design: Translate customer requirements into accurate drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Review designs for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Use data to identify bottlenecks and implement 5S, Kaizen, and SMED projects to reduce waste and monitor engineering performance for process improvements.
- Efficiency & Automation: Integrate new Industry 4.0 technologies—including Cobots and automation—into existing workflows to increase throughput and reduce manual labor.
- Process Documentation: Develop and maintain accurate Work Instructions, BOMs, and Routers. Maintain revision control and design custom jigs and fixtures to ensure repeatable quality and safety.
- Quality & Compliance: Coordinate with Quality and Operations to address technical concerns. Ensure all processes align with ISO 9001:2015 and UL safety standards (UL 508A/698A).
- Project Execution: Support testing, validation, and final acceptance of deliverables. Participate in customer meetings, audits, or technical reviews as required.
The Engineer has the authority to make technical decisions related to customer project design and execution. This role is expected to recommend corrective actions, design changes, and process improvements. Final contractual, financial, and staffing decisions remain with management.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 3+ years in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment (Sheet metal experience is a major plus).- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software. Experience with ERP systems and quoting software (e.g., Paperless Parts) is preferred.
- Mindset: A "Continuous Improvement" DNA. You should be someone who looks at a process and naturally asks, "How can we make this faster, safer, and better?"
This position operates in both office and manufacturing environments and requires regular interaction with production operations and active customer projects.
