Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Engineering opening with an HVAC manufacturer that is located in York, PA. This person will be responsible for general manufacturing development, lean continuous improvement efforts and related project management.
Below is a summary of responsibilities for this position:
- Provide overall Manufacturing Engineering Support for manufacturing operations.
- Actively carry out tasks related to the project.
- Supervise, guide and support project members in carrying out tasks related to the project
- Follow up throughput the project and after project end evaluate and measure the result of the project
- Participate in verification and validation work as required by project
- Coordinate and train company staff on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Audit current procedures.
- Make recommendations in the areas of customer standards, quality assurance, and efficiency.
- Play a key role in the development of a centralized continuous improvement plan.
- Communicate with employees and management about the processes and improvements.
- Present ideas and plans for continuous improvement, providing data and/or metrics to support the initiatives.
- Schedule meetings and gain the support of supervisors and managers prior to the implementation of new or changed procedures.
- Work to engage employees at and overcome resistance to the changes in their everyday duties.
- Create and conduct formal training courses for employees on the changes or developments in processes aimed at continuous improvement
- Provide informal training as required to coach staff on new or changed improvement initiatives.
- Using company provided computers for data reduction and graphic presentation.
- Keep logs up to date, compile data/reports both for internal and external needs.
- Participate in development process for new products and changes in running products.

- Report issues and recurrent defects to Engineering team.
- Participate in cross functional teams to perform design reviews.
- Support company 5S initiatives.

- Take lead (coordinate) process changes or deviations.
- Assure work instructions and related documents are correct.
- Assure product routings and durations are correct.
- Conduct time studies as required.
- Assure all required assembly tools are available to perform assembly tasks.
Below is a summary of requirements for qualified candidates:
- Bachelors Degree (Preferred) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
- Understanding of customer requirements and applicable improvement tools (e.g. 8D, PPAP, Kaizen, Lean, Poka Yoke, 5&Why analysis etc.)
- Ability to design/build simple equipment (tools, jigs, fixtures, racking)
- Understanding of Management system's standards (ISO 9001, ISO14001)
- HVAC industry experience experience (preferred)
- Experience with lead detection (preferred)
- Ability to write technical documents
- Analytical and problem solving skills
