Provides hands-on technical support to end users in the main office (Reading, PA) and across remote locations. This role is under the direction of the CIO.
Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
- Provide front-line technical assistance to local and remote employees via in-person, phone, and remote desktop support.
- Monitor and manage the IT ticket board, ensuring timely response and resolution of user issues.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and remove software applications as required.
- Build, deploy, decommission, and upgrade desktop and laptop computers.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, including but not limited to:
- Support routine system maintenance, patching, and updates.
- Assist with hardware moves, setups, and office relocations.
- Run and terminate network cabling through ceilings, walls, and floors as needed.
- Mount and install IT equipment in racks, ceilings, and walls.
- Keep documented notes to reference old solutions.
- Participate in special IT projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Rare but occasional travel to other offices may be required.
- Fundamental knowledge of computer hardware, components, and peripherals.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory (user and computer management).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including telephone support.
- Ability to lift, push, and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to crawl under desks, climb ladders, and run cabling in ceilings and walls.
- Team-oriented with the ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Prior IT-related work experience (internship, part-time role, or helpdesk environment) or completion of formal IT coursework/technical training preferred.
- Familiarity with engineering software (Autodesk, Bentley, etc.) a plus.
- Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, etc.) are desirable but not required.
