New Jersey Resources is seeking a Tehcnical Support Specialist to work direclty with internal customers and field personnel to diagnose and resolve technical issues. This role will provide support for the upkeep and maintenance of all hardwards, software, peripherals and telephy and radio systems.
Major Responsibilities:
- Field second level technical Help Desk requests in a timely manner.
- Communicate regularly with the users of the status of the request.
- Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems including installation, repair or replace components in laptops, desktops, printers and other peripherals.
- Assist in maintaining the telephony network, both at Headquarters as well as NJR's remote sites.
- Assist in maintaining all mobile devices including but not limited to iPhones, androids and radios.
- Assist in maintaining the mobile workforce.
- Work with third party vendors when needed to assist with repairs to our systems.
- Assist with end user training.
- Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies and integration where feasible.
- Updates the help desk turnover system with the resolution to problems found.
- Keep supervisor advised of activities.
- Associate Degree in Computer Science or Technical Certification required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a second level desktop support position.
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) in related fields.
- Experience working with Avaya telephony systems a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to articulate issues and solutions effectively, both written and spoken.
- Must provide a high level of service in a professional manner, be able to maintain confidentiality, and must be a creative problem solver.
- Ability to multitask, analyze and solve problems quickly with attention to detail.
- Possess good working knowledge of Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 as well as related office applications.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructures.
- Familiar with building, configuring and troubleshooting PC hardware components.
- Complex problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Available to work non-traditional, off-hours support when needed.
- Rotating on-call for off-hours support required.
- Valid Driver's license as travel will be required from time to time based on the needs of the business

Other Details: Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $66,300- $84,500.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
