The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing human resource services and programs for employees, and management of the programs and services assigned to the Chief Administrator Officer’s team. The HR Manager will ensure the consistent application of HR services including staffing; training; leave management, classification; position management; performance management; and HR information management.

· Ensuring offer letters are to Duz Cho standards;
· Creating contracts for new Internal Service providers;
· Ensuring that job competitions are completed fairly;
· Negotiating salaries and benefits with new hires staying in line with the Duz Cho Construction wage matrix.
· Finding, booking, and developing training programs for new hires.
· Addressing employee concerns and issues and investigating complaints.
· Ensuring personnel are entered into the onboarding and payroll systems;
· Using HR software to automate processes and monitor employee KPIs;
· Working with Corporate Liaison to ensure fairness and equality for all indigenous applicants and current workers;
· In collaboration with the Corporate Liaison, track, support, and report on the placement and progression of McLeod Lake Indian Band (MLIB) members within the Company’s workforce;
· Maintain accurate records of MLIB employment, including roles, departments, training, and advancement opportunities;
· Developing and promoting growth within the HR department;
· Assisting with Legal council and BC Labour board to help resolve any issues outstanding;
· Ensuring fairness throughout disciplinary proceedings or terminations

· The ability to understand nonverbal cues such as body language
· Formal HR training with 2 – 5 years experience;
· Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
· Willingness to be very objective when it comes to personnel issues;
· Willingness to grow into a higher-level position.
· Experience working with or supporting Indigenous peoples, organizations, or Nation-owned businesses in an employment, training, or workforce development context.
· Can be a hybrid remote position between home office, Mackenzie, and Chetwynd Offices, must attend local job fairs, and actively participate in corporate events.
