Position Summary:

We are seeking a

Technical Product Support Specialist

to join our team and provide expert technical and scientific support across Calumet’s product offerings. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in petroleum base oils, petrochemical refining, and lubrication products. You will serve as a technical and regulatory voice, helping to develop product and application knowledge and supporting both internal teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide technical and regulatory guidance on Calumet products, practices, and processes.

- Respond to customer inquiries regarding product characteristics, handling, degradation, and performance.

- Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customers to identify opportunities for expanded support.

- Attend customer and internal site visits as a technical expert to support sales initiatives.

- Coordinate customer requests with manufacturing capabilities to develop new or revised products.

- Resolve customer concerns related to product quality or performance.

- Participate in cross-functional teams to improve products and processes.

- Support market development efforts by sharing new application and product knowledge.

- Collaborate with international organizations for information exchange.

- Assist in managing product specifications and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

- 5–7+ years of experience in petroleum base oils, petrochemical refining, lubrication products, and laboratory testing.

- Willingness to travel 10–15% for customer visits, refinery support, and technical committee participation.

Preferred Qualifications:

- STLE OMA I certification highly desirable.

- Broad knowledge of petroleum products and applications, especially base oils, lubricants, and waxes.

- Experience with white mineral oils, petrolatum, gelled hydrocarbons, hydrocarbon solvents, asphalts, and fuels.

- Strong client-facing experience in a refinery or laboratory setting.
