The Systems Administrator’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of the VMware / Active Directory / Storage environments and all associated network services globally for all North American Century Aluminum locations. In addition, the Systems Administrator will participate in the installation, backup, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all server hardware, network hardware, server software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve other hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.
- Provide VMWare VSphere 7 and above environment support, configuration and administration across multiple sites
- Provide Active Directory - 2012 R2 Mode and above support, configuration, maintenance and administration
- Provide EMC VNX and Unity SAN array support, configuration, maintenance and administration
- Design and deploy company Group Policy Objects and utilize other Active Directory tools.
- Provide support and administration for all other assigned process applications.
- Configure systems to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to all assigned areas of responsibility.
- Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations and other network appliances.
- Manage process domain servers, including domain controllers, VMware hosts and all associated hardware.
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated plans.
- Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to Active Directory, VMware and Storage.
- Provides second level IT support for Century Aluminum plant operations
- Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks.
- Recommends upgrades, patches, and hotfixes. Applies and installs approved upgrades, patches and hotfixes.
- Provides second level technical support and guidance to users.
- Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks
- Capital process IT related project management up to $1MM.
- Education: Bachelors
- Technical Experience: Minimum - 4+ Years, Preferred - 7+ years - Management: Minimum - none, Preferred - 3+ years - Manufacturing: Minimum - none, Preferred - 3+ years- Training/Certifications: Minimum - none, Preferred - VMWare, MCSE
