Senior QA Lead
Role Summary
The Senior QA Lead is a subject matter expert in quality assurance who applies deep technical and functional expertise to the most complex enterprise systems and projects. This role leads QA strategy, execution, and continuous improvement across Oracle and enterprise platforms, while guiding teams through large-scale releases, automation initiatives, and production support. The individual is recognized as a trusted expert internally and partners closely with business and IT stakeholders to ensure high-quality, reliable production deployments.
Key Responsibilities
QA Leadership & Delivery
- Partner closely with the QA Manager, Enterprise IT, Shared Services, Business Units, and cross-functional project teams to ensure high-quality delivery of patch and project releases into production.
- Lead and execute regression testing for monthly release cycles and Oracle project implementation waves.
- Oversee defect tracking, triage, and communication of testing outcomes and risks to Business Units and Application Delivery teams.
- Review and approve test strategies, approaches, and plans to ensure appropriate test coverage for each project.
- Establish and enforce QA standards, methodologies, and documentation practices for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Delegate testing assignments, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of test planning, script development, and execution.
- Lead the design, development, and execution of automated and manual test cases using tools such as OpenText ALM, UFT, LoadRunner Enterprise, and related platforms.
- Partner with Oracle Business Unit teams to build and maintain automated regression test scripts.
- Plan and execute performance and load testing to ensure production stability, scalability, and capacity planning.
- Provide technical direction and guidance on automation frameworks across ERP, eCommerce, Web, WCS, SCP, CPQ, and third-party systems.
- Support and influence adoption of advanced automation tools and technologies, including RPA and Selenium, where applicable.
- Act as a key liaison between QA, Enterprise IT, and Business Units to follow up on action items, recommendations, and remediation plans.
- Drive cohesion, consistency, and collaboration across QA team members through strong technical leadership and mentoring.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to QA processes, tools, and delivery models.
- 6–9 years of hands-on experience in Software QA and Testing within large, complex production environments.
- Direct QA experience supporting Oracle Application Suite in an enterprise ERP setting.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, QA standards, and full project life cycle testing, including production maintenance release cycles.
- Demonstrated experience with manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Proficiency with automated testing tools such as OpenText ALM, UFT, and LoadRunner Enterprise.
- Solid understanding of project timelines, dependencies, and risk management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Project and PowerPoint.
- Experience with performance monitoring tools (OEM experience preferred).
- Exposure to RPA and Selenium automation tools is a plus.
- Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand testing environment.
- Ability to set functional, technical, and analytical direction for the QA team.
- Proven capability to lead teams through both technical and functional expertise.
- Strong project planning and risk assessment skills, with the ability to identify issues and drive corrective actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including rapport-building, listening, and effective questioning.
- Experience communicating effectively with end users and multiple levels of management.
- Strong organizational, follow-up, resource management, and relationship management skills.
