The Financial Analyst is focused on analyzing and interpreting the financial results and communicating insights to the business. This role is hands on and will require initiative, the ability to work independently, and a roll up your sleeves attitude. This role will be instrumental in understanding sales, margin, and production costs for North American operations. Further, costing (cost accounting entries), trending, and associated analytics for actuals/forecasting/budgeting will be part of the scope. This role will also own the end-to-end budgeting process for North America. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic finance team and really see it all!
- Decipher system parameters and pull data and information
- Support monthly reporting, including sales/GM and production analytics
- Work with supply chain and sales to understand inventory and pricing positioning vis a vis sales forecast
- Create clear, relevant dashboards that assist in driving the business forward
- Own annual budget and co-own monthly forecast processes
- Provide business insights at both plant and executive partnering level
- Manage all month end processes (work in conjunction with another analyst; duties to be divided during month end as relevant).
- Work to improve and streamline processes, understanding current IT infrastructure and push for data-driven decision making.
- Assists in preparation of schedules for outside auditors
- Analyzes and fully explains variances (to prior periods, budget, forecast), with an eye to improving forecast accuracy.
- Assist with enforcing inventory procedures and controls
- Support of ERP implementation

- Significant ad-hoc analysis requiring attention to detail
- Other as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred
- Accounting Designation desired but not required; understanding of accounting journal entries and inventory valuations are required
- Minimum 5+ years combined experience in accounting and finance in manufacturing- Previous experience in financial reporting/analysis, budgeting, forecasting
- Experience in sales reporting & dashboard creation
- Understanding and experience with multi-currency, multinational organization
- Experience and exposure to AS400/Hyperion/M3 an asset
- Excellent knowledge of Excel (expert level) and MS Office
- Solid knowledge of accounting functions and understanding of inventory and cost accounting entries
- Detail oriented, organized, flexible, self-motivated
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization
