POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to EnFin’s Chief Risk Officer, the Senior Director of Credit & Analytics is an enterprise leader responsible for the end-to-end consumer credit risk and analytics function across EnFin’s loan and lease/PPA platforms. This role provides strategic and operational leadership over credit policy, underwriting strategy, data and analytics, portfolio performance management, and credit risk governance. The position owns the design, execution, and continuous evolution of EnFin’s consumer credit framework, ensuring that credit risk decisions are analytically rigorous, scalable, compliant, and aligned with the Company’s growth, profitability, and capital objectives. The role partners closely with executive leadership across Product, Sales, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Capital Markets to embed credit discipline and performance transparency across the organization. This is a highly visible leadership role with accountability for building and scaling a best-in-class credit and analytics organization capable of supporting rapid growth, product innovation, and evolving market conditions.
This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA or Santa Clara, CA or Teaneck, NJ. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Credit Strategy & Governance
- Own and govern the full suite of consumer credit risk management policies, standards, and procedures across lending and lease/PPA business lines.
- Chair the Credit Committee, establishing clear decision frameworks, escalation protocols, and risk appetite alignment with executive leadership.
- Serve as the primary executive owner for credit-related internal controls, external credit reviews, audits, and examinations.
- Act as a key executive stakeholder for loss mitigation, delinquency management, and portfolio stabilization initiatives.
- Own, design, and continuously refine EnFin’s consumer credit underwriting architecture, including scorecards, decisioning logic, and exception management.
- Lead model development, validation, and enhancement efforts, including back-testing, A/B testing, performance attribution, and sensitivity analysis.
- Establish and maintain robust performance monitoring frameworks to identify early-warning indicators, emerging risk trends, and optimization opportunities.
- Translate complex analytical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Own strategic relationships with credit bureaus, alternative data providers, and analytics vendors.
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate new data sources to improve risk segmentation, approval rates, and loss performance.
- Ensure appropriate governance, controls, and compliance around data usage and model risk management.
- Analyze portfolio-level and asset-level performance to continuously improve underwriting, pricing, and risk management strategies.
- Partner with Servicing to review procedures and workflows, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and credit risk considerations.
- Support the design and monitoring of customer relief, remediation, and loss minimization programs as needed.
- Act as a key strategic partner in the development of new financial products, programs, and channel strategies.
- Drive alignment of credit performance objectives across Sales, Operations, Product, Compliance, and Finance.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term financing strategy, capital efficiency, and risk-adjusted growth planning.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of credit risk, analytics, and operational risk professionals.
- Define the function’s long-term vision, operating model, and talent strategy to support business scale and complexity.
- Foster a culture of accountability, analytical rigor, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, Data Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 12+ years of professional work experience including 10+ years of progressive experience in consumer credit risk management, underwriting, and analytics and 8+ years of people management and leadership experience.- Demonstrated success owning and scaling credit decisioning frameworks within a consumer lending environment.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing analytical and risk management teams.
- Strong quantitative and analytical acumen, with the ability to attract and lead advanced analytical talent.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present credit strategy and performance to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing, evolving business.
- Experience in solar, renewable energy, or specialty finance.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Analytics, Economics, or related discipline).
- Experience supporting capital markets, warehouse facilities, or investor-driven credit requirements.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
