Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking a talented professional to join our team as a Senior Billing Specialist. As a key member of the Billing team, you will be responsible for resolving complex billing problems and gathering and evaluating in-depth customer billing consumption history. In addition, you will be a leader on your team, responsible for developing people and culture, identifying trends for customer accounts, resolving and generating complex billing issues, and analyzing account and financial data for accuracy.
In this position, you will have a direct influence on personnel and the day-to-day operations of the Billing Unit. As a Senior Billing Specialist, you will make an impact by:
- Leading others with a focus on people, culture, and continuous improvement
- Resolving complex billing adjustments and corrections by researching, analyzing, evaluating, and identifying consumption inconsistencies
- Verifying readings (automated & manual) and consumption patterns for complex customer billing issues
- Participating as SME and/or managing billing-related projects, including business processes, writing test scenarios, conducting testing, and determining results
- Managing assigned billing programs, including maintaining up-to-date process documents, ensuring processes are completed, evaluating the effectiveness of the program, and identifying program and process efficiencies
- Providing back-up support for resolving customer escalations and providing customer account summaries to leadership
- Serving as an account manager for large revenue accounts
Who You Are...The ideal candidate will offer experience in a Billing Unit in a utility environment, as well as demonstrate excellent problem-solving, leadership, and customer service abilities. This position will light up your critical thinking skills, requiring you to navigate various IT applications to analyze and troubleshoot complex billing issues. - Proficient abilities in Microsoft Excel are required
- Must be highly motivated, responsible, and graceful under pressure
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential
- Demonstrated experience in C2M is preferred
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
