Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all Zephyr Wind Services divisions, tax and labor law compliance, and administering all paid time off programs. The Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for accurately reporting and monitoring compliance for all IRA projects, including apprenticeship programs.
· Payroll: Collect information from divisions via various timekeeping systems. Accurately accumulate and process payrolls for all divisions, including reimbursements, deductions, pay changes and state tax compliance.
· Paid Time Off Plans: Ensure that employee PTO balances are accurate. Implement changes as necessary, communicate with divisions and employees regarding balances and requests.
· IRA Compliance: Prepare Certified Payrolls and monitor compliance for all IRA projects.
· Apprenticeship Program: Register all new apprentices in the RAPIDS system. Coordinate enrollment in Penn-Foster training courses. Track on the job hours. Monitor and ensure that all requirements are being met by employees and company.
· Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
· Experience working with multiple timekeeping, payroll systems and PEO platforms.
· Knowledge of certified payroll, IRA compliance, LCP Tracker and prevailing wage.
· Demonstrate and maintain positive relationships with all employees and the public.
· Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
· Possess problem solving, reasoning, reasonable judgement and analytical skills.
· Ability to comply with appropriate task deadlines.
· Work independently and as a team member as required.
· High School Diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· 3-plus years of experience in a Payroll Specialist role for a construction or manufacturing company.
