- Process payroll using industry-leading software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, and other HRIS systems to ensure accurate employee compensation.

- Perform detailed data entry and account reconciliation to verify payroll accuracy, including double entry bookkeeping and journal entries.

- Manage benefits administration related to payroll deductions, tax withholdings, and retirement contributions.

- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing and submitting necessary reports and filings.

- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly.

- Support accounts payable and receivable processes related to payroll expenses and reimbursements.

- Assist with governmental accounting requirements, including non-profit accounting standards if applicable.

- Reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll transactions regularly to ensure financial accuracy.

- Collaborate with human resources on employee onboarding, terminations, and benefits updates affecting payroll processing.

- Ensure adherence to all internal controls and audit procedures related to payroll management.

- Proven experience working with payroll management software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles including debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and journal entries.

- Familiarity with tax experience related to payroll taxes and governmental reporting requirements.

- Knowledge of benefits administration processes within HRIS systems like UltiPro or PeopleSoft is highly desirable.

- Demonstrated ability in data entry accuracy and attention to detail in high-volume environments.

- Experience in corporate or non-profit accounting environments is preferred, especially with governmental or specialized accounting standards.

- Excellent analysis skills for identifying discrepancies and resolving complex payroll issues efficiently.
