Payroll Specialist

Job Overview

Delta Fabrication and Machine, Inc is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to assist in processing payroll accurately and on time. This roll is responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, multi-states, and local regulations while providing excellent support to employees regarding payroll related questions, as well as being cross-trained to assist in multiple departments when needed.

Responsibilities

- Assist in processing payroll on a regular schedule (weekly) for all employees

- Maintain accurate payroll records, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits

- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies

- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports

- Manage employee payroll changes (new hires, terminations, salary updates, garnishments)

- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies

- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner

- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on audits, benefits, and reporting

- Support year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution

- Handle payroll corrections, adjustments, and audits

Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

- 2-5+ years of payroll processing experience

- Experience with payroll systems, and timekeeping software

- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information

- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

- Proven Experience in payroll

- Strong knowledge of computers, word, excel etc.

- Capable of working in a fast paced environment
