The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance group, providing assistance with issues such as equipment and manpower.
- Assist managers with procedures and processes when needed.
- Help manage daily operations, especially customer service, and make improvements as needed.
- Ensure the maintenance department is following the Ketek operational procedures, policies, and the Loss Prevention Program.
- Provide knowledge and guidance to Business Development.
- Relay information to management on department specific issues.
- Provide information to the department when new procedures or processes are introduced.
- Fill required paperwork.
- Coordinate with the Training department for scheduling of new/recertification training.
- Actively strive to ensure a positive, safe work environment with high employee morale.
- Approve daily job control sheets and time-off requests.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to engage in progressive discipline where required.
- Ensure all Ketek work procedures, policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations are followed.
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment.
- Be considerate of the needs of our community and the environment.
- Represent Ketek in a light that is commensurate with the values of Management and the Corporate Vision and Mission Statements.

- Minimum ten years of oilfield, rentals, and/or construction experience.
- Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken).
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean driver’s abstract.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to deal with the public in a positive, courteous, and respectful manner.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlines.
- Ability to handle changing schedules and priorities, with high-level prioritization skills.
- Strong work ethic and organizational planning skills with attention to detail.
- Post-secondary education or trade/technical certificate.
- Minimum five years Ketek experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Ketek equipment (or similar).
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Management experience in the rental industry.
- Regularly required to stand/sit, talk/hear, use hands/fingers to operate a computer and telephone, stoop, and kneel.
- Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
- Office environment (60%), field environment (40%).
- On call 24/7.
- May be required to work weekends and outside of regular office hours.
- May be required to work around mobile equipment.
