We are seeking a high-impact Operations Manager to transform our shop floor into a world-class manufacturing environment. This role is designed for a leader who balances technical systems expertise (MRP/Lean) with "boots-on-the-ground" people management. Your primary mission is to take our existing production plans and turn them into 100% schedule attainment through disciplined inventory control, safety standards, and a robust workforce development strategy.
- MRP Implementation: Take full ownership of the MRP system rollout, ensuring data integrity, accurate lead times, and that all departmentsare utilizing the system.
- Lean Leadership: Identify bottlenecks and lead Lean projects (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to reduce waste and improve throughput.
- Housekeeping & Safety: Establish and enforce "Gold Standard" safety protocols and 5S housekeeping initiatives to ensure a clean, compliant, and efficient workspace.
- Schedule Attainment: Partner with the Production Manager to provide the guidance, resources, and troubleshooting needed to hit 100% of originally planned schedules.
- Inventory Integrity: Implement strict inventory control measures, cycle counting, and material handling processes to eliminate shortages and overages.
- NPD Liaison: Manage the transition of New Product Development (NPD) into full-scale production without disrupting current workflows.
- Staffing & Capacity: Manage labor requirements based on demand, ensuring the shop floor is neither over nor under-staffed.
- The "Skills Matrix": Design and execute a cross-training program to ensure flexibility across departments and eliminate "single-point-of-failure" dependencies.
- Mentorship: Provide direct coaching to the Production Manager and staff to elevate their decision-making and leadership capabilities.- Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing management, with a proven track record of successful MRP/ERP implementations.
- Lean Expertise: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or equivalent experience in Lean Manufacturing.
- Financial Literacy: Deep understanding of COGS, inventory valuation, and labor efficiency metrics.
