Position Overview
This position is classified as full-time, Non-Exempt Typical days and hours of work are 2nd shift / Monday to Friday, (1:00 pm to 11:30pm). This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work.
As the Maintenance Technician, you will assist the Maintenance Mechanic in the repair of production equipment, facilities, and environmental-related issues. You will work to minimize unplanned downtime, improve production quality, increase equipment efficiency, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Implement & maintain the facility's preventative maintenance program
- Conduct scheduled inspections of production equipment (forge, grind, saws), forklifts, fluid levels, water flows, air flows, filters, environmental compliance, and similar items; notify supervisor of issues as needed
- Assist in equipment performance testing per manufacturer’s guidelines
- Perform corrective actions required for out-of-specification conditions as directed by the supervisor
- Assist in analytical troubleshooting of issues to maintain forging equipment & facilities
- Accurately record and document all completed maintenance, modifications, disposals, and repairs
- Maintain shop copies of manuals and blueprints in a neat and organized manner; provide others with updated information as required
- Make suggestions for changes that will help the plant achieve improved efficiency, quality, and safety
- Assist in maintaining the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts

Maintenance Mechanic
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for his/her own regular duties and assist in training shop staff assigned to assist with overhaul projects and/or weekend maintenance-related work.
Qualifications Required Education, Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one to two years of work experience in Shop Maintenance
- Must be proficient in reading and understanding instructions in English
- Must be able to closely follow instructions and read documents.
- Must be able to communicate, verbally and written, with managers and coworkers.
- Must maintain quality practices and safety standards.
- Must be able and willing to be forklift operations and safety certified.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
- Must be able to work in tight spaces, elevated positions, and in extreme temperatures; turning, bending, and holding arms at/above the head; able to lift up to 50 lbs.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat.
