We are looking for a proactive IT professional who is comfortable supporting technology operations for 150+ employees across multiple locations. This role requires someone who can manage their workload independently, communicate effectively with both leadership and field staff, and help maintain secure, reliable IT systems. The position will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to support day-to-day IT operations and help improve processes and infrastructure over time.
● Coordinate & Strategize: Coordinate the daily operations of the IT team and communicate strategy and updates effectively to company leadership.
● Own the Budget: Help develop and manage IT budgets to keep company technology current and secure.
● Build the Playbook: Document IT processes, create foundational security policies, and build repeatable, efficient workflows.
● Make the Call: Confidently make key operational and technical decisions with minimal leadership oversight.
● Experience: 10 or more years of hands-on experience in IT operations, support, and management.
● Mindset: A highly motivated attitude with a knack for independent problem-solving.
● Organized & Responsive: Able to manage a heavy workload, prioritize tasks effectively, provide timely IT support, and meet deadlines.
● Resourceful: Flexible and able to creatively solve problems while keeping IT budgets in mind.
● Cybersecurity & Infrastructure: Deep knowledge of networking, wireless configurations, backups, antivirus, phishing/spam filtering, and security monitoring (EDR or SIEM).
● Systems & Software: Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Entra ID, etc.) and device management.
● Communication & Soft Skills: Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both leadership and end users. The role requires someone who can provide clear recommendations, communicate technical strategy, and help leadership understand the operational impact of IT decisions.
● Microsoft 365 Administration: Strong experience in managing Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, including tenant configuration, licensing, and user administration.
● Azure / Microsoft Cloud Services: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and cloud concepts. The environment includes some Azure-based services and integrations alongside Microsoft 365.
● Identity & Access Management (IAM): Experience managing Microsoft Entra ID identity services including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations.
● Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR): Strong knowledge of modern EDR solutions to detect and isolate threats.
● Security Monitoring: Familiarity with modern security practices such as endpoint protection, threat monitoring, and identity security. Experience with SIEM platforms or Zero Trust frameworks is a plus.
● Email & Collaboration Security: Proficiency with spam/phishing filtering and threat protection (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Office 365, proofpoint, or Mimecast).
● Zero Trust Concepts: Familiarity with modern Zero Trust security principles and identity-centric security practices in cloud and hybrid environments.
● Endpoint Management: Experience with modern endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, or other device management platforms.
● Hardware Lifecycle & Repair: Hands-on ability to troubleshoot, repair, and deploy PCs, laptops, and peripheral hardware, alongside managing hardware refresh cycles.
● Asset Tracking: Experience maintaining accurate hardware and software inventories.
● Advanced Networking: Strong knowledge of core networking fundamentals including routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
● Wireless Infrastructure: Experience designing, deploying, and managing business-grade Wi-Fi networks. Familiarity with common platforms (e.g., Ubiquiti, TP-Link, etc.) is a plus.
● Perimeter Security: Experience managing perimeter security controls such as firewalls, VPN access, and basic intrusion prevention features where available.
● Backup Solutions: Experience implementing and maintaining backup strategies for endpoints and critical business data, including both cloud and on-prem data.
● Disaster Recovery (DR): Ability to document, maintain, and execute incident response and disaster recovery procedures, including periodic testing as the environment and resources allow.
● Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell to automate repetitive administrative tasks, bulk user creation, and system reporting.
● Business Systems: Familiarity supporting common business applications such as accounting or financial software.
● IT Service Management (ITSM): Experience utilizing ticketing systems to track SLAs, document resolutions, and manage change-control processes.
