North Carolina Signing Program is the exclusive operator of the Specific Service Sign Program (LOGO Program) on behalf of the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). We manage the sales, installation, and maintenance of LOGO signs across the state, providing essential guidance to motorists seeking services such as gas, food, lodging, and attractions. Our work plays a vital role in roadway safety, local economic support, and enhancing the travel experience throughout North Carolina.
The LOGO Program (Specific Service Signs) helps motorists quickly locate essential services near highway interchanges. These blue guide signs display business logos for gas stations, restaurants, hotels, attractions, and other services—improving roadway safety and traveler convenience while supporting local businesses.
We are seeking a Highway Sign Installation / Traffic Control Technician to join our field operations team. Reporting directly to the Sign Install Crew Foreman, this position is responsible for assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of LOGO signs across North Carolina. This role requires extensive overnight travel, typically Monday through Thursday or Friday, and is ideal for someone who is hardworking, dependable, and safety-minded.
- Assist the Crew Foreman and team with the installation and maintenance of LOGO signs in accordance with NCDOT specifications and safety standards.
- Assemble, install, and repair both large and small highway signs.
- Set up and manage basic traffic control in work zones.
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and materials required for installations.
- Follow and promote all company and regulatory safety guidelines.
- Support special projects or additional tasks as assigned.
- Travel: Ability to travel across North Carolina with overnight stays 4–5 days per week.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform physically demanding outdoor work, including lifting, climbing, stooping, balancing, and working in varied weather conditions.
- Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required. CDL preferred but not required.
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in construction, sign installation, or outdoor labor is a plus but not required.
- Logistics: Reliable transportation to and from our Raleigh-area operations facility at least once per week.
- Salary: $35,000 – $52,000 annually, based on experience, licenses (CDL), and certifications.
- Per Diem: Daily per diem provided for meals and incidentals during overnight travel.
