Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Traffic Signal Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing traffic signal systems to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow. The ideal candidate will have experience in field service, equipment repair, and low voltage systems, with a strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand tools and schematics. - Install, troubleshoot, and repair traffic signal equipment and related electrical systems
- Perform maintenance on traffic control devices to ensure optimal operation
- Use hand tools and schematics to diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently
- Conduct equipment testing using tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices
- Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for system diagnostics
- Maintain detailed records of service activities and repairs performed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects
- Assist in the installation of computer hardware related to traffic signal systems
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize system downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to low voltage electrical work and mechanical procedures
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair underground electrical systems.
- Install, troubleshoot and repair roadway lighting systems.
- Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar field service role, preferably with traffic signal or electrical systems
- IMSA Traffic Signal Tech II or ability to obtain certification immediately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with equipment repair and maintenance
- Experience working with computer hardware, networking, and schematics
- Ability to work with low voltage electrical systems safely and effectively
- Proficiency in using hand tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing instruments
- Knowledge of computer networking principles related to traffic control systems is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various outdoor environments
