North Carolina Signing Program is the exclusive operator of the Specific Service Sign Program (LOGO Program) on behalf of the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). We are responsible for the sales, installation, and maintenance of LOGO signs across the state, providing essential guidance to motorists seeking services such as gas, food, lodging, and attractions. About the LOGO Program:
The LOGO Program (Specific Service Signs) helps motorists quickly locate essential services near highway interchanges. These blue guide signs display business logos for gas stations, restaurants, hotels, attractions, and other services, enhancing both roadway safety and traveler convenience while also supporting participating businesses.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dependable and experienced Sign Install Crew Foreman to lead our field team in the installation and maintenance of highway signage throughout North Carolina. This role is critical to our operations and requires a hands-on leader with a strong work ethic, technical skill, and a commitment to safety and quality. The position involves extensive travel, typically Monday through Thursday or Friday, with overnight stays required during the week.
- Crew Leadership: Supervise a field crew of 3 or more, ensuring proper training, adherence to safety procedures, and timely project completion.
- Sign Installation & Maintenance: Oversee the installation and maintenance of LOGO signs in accordance with NCDOT specifications and standards.
- Safety First: Enforce compliance with all safety regulations. Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure use of appropriate protective equipment.
- Equipment & Materials Management: Maintain inventory, tools, and equipment. Accurately track materials and time for each project.
- Field Problem-Solving: Adapt to on-site challenges, address unexpected conditions, and resolve equipment or installation issues.
- Operational Support: Assist with special projects or program needs as assigned by management.
- Travel: Must be willing to travel across North Carolina with overnight stays 4–5 days per week.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform strenuous outdoor work, including lifting, climbing, stooping, and walking in varied terrain and weather.
- Driving Record: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. CDL preferred but not required.
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in highway sign installation or field crew leadership strongly desired.
- Logistics: Must have reliable transportation to and from our Raleigh-area operations facility once per week.
- Salary: $55,000 – $80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
- Per Diem: Daily per diem for meals and incidentals during overnight travel.
