General Shop Helper

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and dependable General Shop Helper to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will support daily shop operations by assisting with equipment setup, material handling, and basic fabrication tasks. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in machining, fabrication, and assembly processes while supporting a dynamic manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

- Assist fabrication and CNC sheet metal departments

- Perform material handling and part preparation

- Saw cutting, grinding, sanding, drilling, and countersinking

- Deburring and cleaning of parts

- Finish metal surfaces (grinding welds, orbital sanding, polishing, #4 finish)

- Package and strap finished goods for shipment

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

- Support team members and perform general shop duties as needed

Qualifications

- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on mindset

- Experience with hand tools preferred (not required)

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

- Strong attention to detail and work ethic

- Reliable and punctual

- Ability to read basic drawings and shop travelers (preferred)

- Basic math skills

- Comfortable using basic computer applications

- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)

Additional Requirements

- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Willingness to work overtime as needed

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
