The Fleet Specialist will be responsible for supporting the fleet activities of all BLS and BLSE assets. The Fleet Coordinator will coordinate the procurement and decommissioning of all vehicles & equipment, license and register all vehicles and prepare each vehicle prior to assigning it to the employee. The Fleet Coordinator must have excellent communication skills, be organized and detail oriented.
- Oversee the company vehicle fleet, including procurement and decommissioning of vehicles; ensure that vehicles are being cleaned, repaired, and maintained.
- Coordinate purchase/lease of all new vehicles/equipment
- Works with DMV to obtain license plates/renewals
- Assign vehicles/fuel cards to new employees
- Add/remove vehicles from fleet as needed
- Maintain equipment lists including vehicle assignments and any DOT records
- Oversee reporting to local authorities in the event of accidents, theft, or other criminal activity.
- Answer calls, schedule appointments and follow-up with repair facilities regarding outstanding maintenance items.
- Understand warranty programs and coordinate invoices/repair orders to align with any work performed pertaining to the warranty.
- Participate in initiatives and strategies in reducing costs and creating efficiencies regarding the equipment and processes to track
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors
- Work with vendors to negotiate competitive pricing for services
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Understanding of fleet maintenance practices, vehicle lifecycles, and service intervals
- Knowledge of DOT compliance, vehicle inspections, and regulatory recordkeeping
- Ability to track and analyze vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and cost efficiency
- Familiarity with GPS tracking systems, telematics, and fleet software platforms
- Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in routing, scheduling, and emergency response logistics
- Ability to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules without impacting operational performance
- Experience with vendor management for vehicle leasing, servicing, or parts procurement
- Self-starter, ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License & clean driving record; CDL license helpful but not required
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Able to speak, write, and read English
- Able to lift, push, pull, and move at least 60 pounds
