Summary:
The Field Safety Advisor will provide construction safety management guidance and support to Ontivity and client management during development, planning, engineering, construction, modification and betterment projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Safety/Quality Manager with the following:
- Review construction safety programs, practices and construction methods
- Provide general and technical consulting for Site industrial safety related issues
- Assist in facilitating client/contractor communications
- Coordinate issue identification and resolution between project participants
- Review and provide feedback on proposed corrective actions. Follow up on corrective action effectiveness
- Assists as needed in preparation, review and approval of job safety analysis, and update as necessary for changed conditions
- Provide training classes to employees
- Onsite inspection of safety equipment for site work
- Assist with post-incident investigations and provide feedback to prevent other incidents from happening
- Perform site safety surveillance and report results
- Help evaluate the need and assist in obtaining required safety equipment as necessary
- Participate in the company weekly safety call
- Help to ensure the Safety and Data Sheet (SDS) notebooks are up-to-date
- Other duties as assigned
- Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to climb towers as needed.
- Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing and participate in random testing program
- Position requires working in all conditions including outdoors and in a professional office atmosphere
- Must possess valid driver’s license and is required to drive company vehicles
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must have strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities
- Must be a team player and possess excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Experienced in OSHA regulations and the implementation of those regulations
- Project planning skills
- Climber-rescuer certification
- Radio Frequency training
- First Aid/CPR certification
- OSHA 10 hour or 30 hour training certification
- Train the trainer certification is preferred
- This position does not have supervisory requirements
- This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with extensive overtime requirements
- Extensive travel to job sites is required for this position
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Three to five years of proven safety management experience required
- Knowledge of construction safety measures and accident prevention required
