Field Safety Officer

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Field Safety Officer to support and enforce safety standards on construction sites. This role helps ensure a safe work environment, reduces risk, and maintains compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations. The Field Safety Officer will report to Summit’s Supervisor and work closely with client safety personnel to align site safety efforts. This position plays a key role in supporting project teams and promoting a strong safety culture.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety-related role

- OSHA 30 certification required

Responsibilities

- Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and other applicable standards

- Implement and enforce site-specific safety policies and procedures

- Provide safety training and guidance to field personnel, including risk management and EHS best practices

- Investigate incidents, complete reports, and recommend corrective actions

- Maintain accurate safety documentation, including inspections, training records, and incident reports

- Coordinate safety efforts with Summit’s Supervisor and client safety teams

- Stay current on safety regulations and industry best practices

Experience

- Experience in construction site safety or a related construction industry role

- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation, and occupational health standards

- Knowledge of NEC requirements is preferred

- Experience using construction management or safety reporting software

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Construction management or site supervision experience is a plus

This role requires strong communication skills and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and compliant worksite for all personnel.

Pay: $65.20 - $73.55 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
