We’re Hiring: Technical Sales Representative – Level 1
Location: Norristown, PA | Pay: $48,000–$62,000/year | Full-Time
O’Donnell Metal Fabricators is a small, high-performing fabrication shop built on precision, craftsmanship, and accountability. We work with companies that expect accurate quotes, reliable communication, and parts delivered without excuses.
We run lean. We communicate clearly. And we take pride in the details—because that’s what keeps customers coming back.
If you want a workplace where your technical skills matter, your work is seen, and your effort directly supports growth, you’ll fit in here.
We’re hiring a Level 1 Technical Sales Representative to help customers scope work accurately and get clean, complete quotes into our system. This is an entry-level sales role focused on learning our processes, understanding fabrication capabilities, and supporting customers through early stages of a project.
You’ll review drawings, clarify requirements, and coordinate internally to make sure every quote reflects what the customer actually needs. You won’t carry a heavy sales quota on day one—but you will learn how to manage opportunities, communicate like a professional, and represent our shop with confidence.
- Review RFQs, drawings, and customer sketches to confirm requirements before estimating begins
- Gather missing details by communicating directly with customers—no assumptions, no guesswork
- Prepare basic quotes using established estimating tools and workflows
- Coordinate with fabrication, drafting, and leadership teams to validate scope, materials, and lead times
- Track open quotes and follow up with accuracy and consistency
- Document conversations, notes, and technical details in our CRM and shared systems
- Support customers with realistic timelines, clear communication, and a steady, professional presence
- Provide clean, organized handoffs internally—not partially completed work that slows the team down
- 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or a related technical environment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings (prints, shop drawings, simple CAD files)
- Strong communication skills with a calm, professional presence
- Solid organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple open quotes
- Comfortable asking questions early and adapting in a fast-paced shop environment
- Valid driver’s license and insurability
- $48,000–$62,000/year based on experience
- Incentive Potential: Commission on closed work with an introductory rate
- Annual Bonus Potential: Up to 5% of base salary
- PTO, Paid Holidays, Health Insurance, Retirement Benefits
- Advancement Opportunities as you grow into quoting larger projects and managing accounts
This position operates in a mixed office and light-industrial environment. You’ll spend time reviewing prints, preparing quotes, communicating with customers, and walking the shop floor to understand our processes firsthand.
- Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Communicating with internal teams and external customers
- Navigating a fast-moving environment where priorities shift quickly
