Job Title: Supply Chain Lead - Purchasing
# GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB (Summary)
The Purchasing Superintendent will oversee and direct the activities of the Purchasing department. This position is important to the success of the company to ensure that vendor and client relationships are maintained and cultivated; proper timelines are maintained; and the quality/price/availability of products and services are continually evaluated. This position will also work closely with the Sourcing Superintendent to negotiate and establish agreements and will coordinate with the Director of Contracts and Procurement.
- Lead supervision including hiring and managing personnel with corporate purchasing department.
- Overseedailyworkflowandschedulesofthedepartment to support Project Sites
- Overseetrainingfornewandexistingemployeeswithinthepurchasingdepartment
- Conductsperformanceevaluationsthataretimely,andconstructive
- CoordinateswiththeHRdepartmenttohandledisciplineandterminationofemployees in accordance with company policies.
- Lead and implementpurchasingprocessesandpolicies and proactive management
- Monitor and ensure purchase to Pay Process is being followed by all company personnel
- Lead the negotiation of acquisitions with vendors and service providers
- Placement of Purchase Orders, authorizing payments
- Monitor and maintain procurement activities including month-end tasks and deadlines
- Lead the qualification of new vendors
- Monitor and track vendor performance
- Lead the distributionandlogisticsincludingcross-borderandcustomstransactions between Canada, Mexico, and the USA
- Collaborate with the Finance Department and Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and for timely receipt and payments to vendors
- Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirementsforequipment,materials,products,services,andacceptablesubstitutions
- Assessescurrentmaterialavailability;reasonablypredictsfutureavailabilitybasedon the market, delivery systems, and other variables
- Provide timely customer service on project sites acquisition needs
- Preparesordelegatestheprocessofrequisition approvalsformaterials,supplies,services,and equipment
- Resolvesgrievanceswithvendors,contractors,andsuppliers
- Maintains and/or implement purchasing and recordkeeping systems
- Performsotherdutiesas

- BeawareofanyhealthandsafetyhazardsorinfractionsandreportsametotheHealth and Safety Department

- Bachelor'sdegreeinarelatedfieldrequired or equivalent experience
- Atleast5yearsofrelatedexperience,preferably within mining industry
- ProfessionalPurchasingCertification(CPP)orworkingtowardsis
