Lead Shop - Mechanic

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Shop Foreman to oversee our shop operations, manage our team of mechanics and apprentices, and ensure all Nordic equipment remains in top condition to meet the demands of our field operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead daily shop operations and assign work to mechanics and apprentices

- Oversee repairs, maintenance, and inspections for tank trucks, pressure trucks, and support units

- Conduct quality control checks on all completed mechanical work

- Coordinate with dispatch and operations teams to minimize downtime and schedule preventative maintenance

- Ensure compliance with company safety standard

- Maintain detailed service and inspection records in the company’s tracking system

- Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback to shop staff

- Support inventory control, ordering of parts, and vendor coordination

- Assist with mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting when needed

Qualifications:

- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification

- Minimum 5 years of experience in a shop leadership or foreman role

- Previous experience with tank truck and pressure truck units (required)

- Strong mechanical aptitude for hydraulics, pumps, PTO systems, and safety controls

- Solid understanding of CVIP inspections and Alberta Transportation regulations

- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

- Commitment to safety and attention to detail
