Receiving and Shipping Lead

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Receiving and Shipping Lead to oversee warehouse distribution operations. This leadership role involves managing inventory control, coordinating logistics, and ensuring efficient materials handling within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse management skills, team management experience, and a solid understanding of shipping and receiving processes, including familiarity with warehouse/company management ERP system. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence, safety compliance, and customer service goals across the warehouse.

Duties

- Supervise daily receiving and shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate processing of goods

- Oversee inventory management, including inventory control and warehouse distribution tasks

- Coordinate with logistics providers to optimize transportation and delivery schedules

- Utilize warehouse management systems ERP to track inventory levels, shipments, and order processing

- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, safety, and accuracy

- Manage team members involved in materials handling, heavy lifting, and forklift operations while ensuring OSHA compliance

- Conduct regular audits of inventory accuracy and implement corrective actions as needed

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including e-commerce operations, procurement, and quality assurance

- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to OSHA regulations and mechanical safety protocols

- Support the onboarding and training of warehouse staff on best practices for shipping & receiving, materials handling, and equipment use

Requirements

- Proven experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or logistics roles; warehouse supervisor experience is preferred

- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP program

- Hands-on experience with forklift operation, heavy lifting, and materials handling equipment

- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies within warehouse environments

- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for warehouse safety compliance

- Experience with e-commerce fulfillment processes and 3PL logistics providers is desirable

- Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead a diverse workforce effectively

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and documentation processes

- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a dynamic distribution setting
