Summer Students 2026 Eagle River Mine, Near Wawa, ON (Mine Site) Company Information
Wesdome is a Canadian-focused gold producer with two high-grade underground assets, the Eagle River mine in Ontario and the Kiena mine in Québec. The Company’s primary goal is to responsibly leverage its operating platform and high-quality brownfield and greenfield exploration pipeline to build a growing value-driven gold producer.

Eagle River Minesitehas a tight-knit team where everyone knows each other and there is a strong sense of camaraderie and mutual support. It is a hands-on, fast paced environment where work feels impactful and you can see the results of your contributions quickly. There are many long-tenured employees and a lot of site pride.
The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.
Hourly Rate Range
: $22.50 to $24.50

Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities And Job Duties
Students will support day-to-day activities within their assigned department, gaining practical, hands-on experience aligned with their field of study. Responsibilities will vary by placement and may include assisting with projects, supporting operational and administrative tasks, and learning site-specific processes within an active mining environment.
These roles offer qualified candidates the opportunity to apply their education in a real-world setting while developing a strong understanding of mining operations. Successful students will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, while consistently working in a safe and responsible manner.
Qualifications And Experience
- Must have been enrolled as a full-time post-secondary student for the past two academic semesters and be returning to a full-time program at an accredited university, college, or technical institution.
- Full-time student status is defined as successfully completing a minimum of three (3) full-credit courses per semester.
- Must be at least 18 years of age by May 1, 2026.
- Official or unofficial transcripts must be submitted with the application.
- Must be available to work the full summer term, from the selected start date in early May through the end of August.
- Must hold a valid driver’s licence.
- Students are eligible for a maximum of four (4) summer work terms.
- Education and/or work experience related to environmental studies, geology, information technology, business administration, mechanical disciplines, or engineering is considered an asset.
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including a medical assessment and criminal background check.
Working Conditions / Schedule
Location: Eagle River Mine near Wawa, ON
Shift / Hours of Work (if applicable): working up to 12 hours per day
Schedule / Rotation (if applicable): 7/7 or 14/14
Type of Hire (perm full-time, perm part-time, student / EIT etc.): student, part-time
