This position is responsible for supervising processes and procedures in the MPL or shipping
department. Records time, date, quantity, source, and destination of materials shipped. Ensures
that goods are verified against records of shipment. Supervises the maintenance of records of
damaged or defective items and discrepancies in quantities and weights. The Shipping
coordinator is responsible not only for getting product out the door but also for completing
- *Supervises employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments and in preparing items for shipment. - *Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Maintains and reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
- *Directs movement of shipments from storage and work areas to shipping platform. - *Coordinates with Carriers, Freight Forwarders, Plant Supervisors, Production Scheduler and other Plant personnel in order to attain delivery, cost and quality of service objectives. - *Ensure the cost effectiveness of the delivery function, including the control of labor utilization – preventing excess hours, downtime and overtime, and efficient usage of transportation related equipment.- Order supplies for shipping department
- Responsible for cost control for outbound prepaid and expedited freight and coordinating accruals with plant controller.

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years’ shipping experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Up to date on government regulations and international regulations such as NAFTA for overseas freight shipments.
