As the Shipping Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate daily shipping, warehouse, and distribution operations to ensure accurate inventory management and on-time delivery to customers. You will lead shipping, pack-out, material handling, and fittings teams, while partnering closely with plant leadership to support production schedules and customer commitments.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate daily shipping and distribution activities
- Oversee warehouse operations to ensure incoming and outgoing inventory is processed accurately and on schedule
- Supervise shipping, pack-out, material handlers, and fittings department employees
- Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with the Plant Manager and Production Supervisor
- Audit inventory, analyze results, and recommend restocking strategies
- Establish and maintain efficient warehouse practices, layouts, and protocols
- Ensure shipping documentation, including invoices and packing lists, is accurate and completed on time
- Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery
- Track, analyze, and report shipping performance metrics
- Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies
- Address shipping-related issues and customer concerns as they arise
- Identify and implement cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
- Build strong working relationships internally and with external partners
- Proven experience in a Shipping Supervisor or similar leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics processes, and inventory management
- Experience using logistics and inventory management systems
- Demonstrated leadership, delegation, and employee development skills
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment
- Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- A hands-on leadership role with direct impact on customer satisfaction and operational performance
