Triple M Metal is seeking a dynamic individual to join our accounting department as a Manager, Senior Accounting in Brampton, ON

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting Department. This job monitors and analyzes accounting data with a focus on Accounts Receivable. Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and procedures in line with business practices. Troubleshooting various issues and managing team dynamics to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manages and oversees daily activities of the Accounts Receivable function (including credit insurance) to ensure efficiency and accuracy of all accounting transactions:

- Provides problem solving tools and advice to staff

- Provide oversight to credit release process

- Responsible for most aspects related to credit insurance.

- Assists with analyzing and recording of Sales Accrual files

- Performs account analysis and assists with monthly maintenance of Balance Sheet

- Files sales taxes and Census summaries in a consistent and timely manner

- Assist with Inventory analysis and reconciliation and month end inventory worksheets.

- Assists with Treasury function including management of all banking websites, user access, approvals. Coordinates with banks to add or remove signatures, open or close accounts, etc.

- Oversee set-up and troubleshoot cash deliveries for all yards

- Oversees daily cash reporting

- Reconciliations of main bank accounts

- Assigns projects and directs staff to ensure compliance and accuracy to meet financial accounting objectives and compliance.

- Improves systems and procedures and initiates corrective action to ensure efficiency and accuracy in accounting practices.

- Ensure that all month-end procedures as they pertain to Bank and Accounts Receivable are followed so that Financial Statements can be provided to Executive Team in a timely manner. This includes all bank account reconciliations tying to the General Ledger.

- Monitors and analyzes accounting data to produce and analyze financial statements.

- Complete any projects or reports as directed to support management.

- Co-ordinates and completes audits including year-end audit (e.g. HST, QST, Ernst and Young).

- Delegates tasks to staff to complete year-end audit to ensure requirements, compliance and deadlines are met.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Commerce

- Minimum of 5+ years in a supervisory role

- CPA Designation

- Analytically inclined

- Proficient computer skills – MS Excel and GP (Preferred)
