The Safety, Risk & Compliance Specialist serves as a central compliance and quality‑assurance function, supporting the organization’s safety, risk, and regulatory programs through the administration of safety systems, verification of documentation accuracy, and closure of compliance gaps. This role provides targeted jobsite support as needed – such as field audits, incident reporting assistance, and training and compliance record management – and ensures adherence to regulatory and customer‑specific requirements. Acting as a connective resource between field safety execution and the broader Risk & Compliance function, the Specialist strengthens operational consistency, audit readiness, and a proactive safety culture across all divisions.
You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Conduct office and shop site audits, inspections, and hazard assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, ANSI, and other applicable standards.
- Manager emergency response, contingency planning, and relevant training exercises for all office locations.
- Provide oversight and procurement support for enterprise safety equipment inventory.
- Assist with incident reporting, documentation accuracy, and evidence gathering for incident investigations.
- Support workers’ compensation coordination by collecting field details, reports, follow-up information, and return-to-work.
- Provide on-site safety support during high-risk activities or when requested by Safety Managers.
- Help maintain compliance with prequalification requirements, company MVR programs, safety contract reviews, and client safety requirements and documentation.
- Assist with coordination and participation in safety committee meetings.
- Maintain accurate records in subcontractor prequalification portals, incident reporting platform (iTrack), learning management system (KE KnowlEDGE), or other platforms.
- Support training assignments, coordination, and delivery of new hire orientation, OSHA 10/30, and other specialty safety courses.
- Assist with preparing and updating safety training materials and field onboarding resources.
- Perform quality assurance/quality control (QWA/QC) reviews of incident report, JSAs, and other safety, risk, and compliance activities and documentation.
- Establish and maintain a close working relationship with Operational Excellence team to ensure Safety and Risk considerations are incorporated.
- Track regulatory requirements and assist in updated internal programs to maintain compliance with changing standards.
- Participate in the rollout of new or enhanced safety procedures, standards, or equipment requirements.
- Support development and maintenance of centralized safety standards, reference libraries, and process improvements.
- Support safety meetings, stand-downs, initiatives, and periodic reviews as assigned.
- Contribute to updates of training content, field safety guidance, and compliance resources.
- Encourage proactive hazard identification, near miss reporting, and corrective actions.
- Promote consistent use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.
Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety practices, compliance standards, and risk prevention.

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Risk management, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of field safety, risk, compliance, or construction experience- Experience with training delivery, safety audits, or compliance programs is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, job hazard analysis, and construction safety best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coach and influence across levels.
- Proficient with incident management, audit tools, and training systems (e.g., Smartsheet, Procore, Absorb LMS)
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with attention to detail.
- Electrical industry safety experience including NFPA70/70E preferred but not required.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, ARM, CRM, or CSP preferred but not required.

The role primarily works in a professional office environment with standard equipment such as computers, phones, and printers including conference rooms and presentation spaces.
- Must be capable of working in inclement conditions including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme rain, snow and wind.
- Noisy environment with frequent exposure to loud machinery and construction activities.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, FR clothing, and respirators when necessary.
- Possible exposure to dust chemicals, and electrical hazards.
- Interaction with employees, managers, and external partners daily.
- 10-30% travel to support Field Safety and Operations Teams
- Must be able to travel to site when needed by a customer or directed by supervisor.
- May be required to work evenings and or weekends.
- Occasional air travel may be necessary for out-of-state or national project.
