We are seeking a Safety & Training Specialist to lead and manage workplace safety and employee training programs in a manufacturing/industrial environment. This role is responsible for ensuring OSHA compliance, reducing risk, and driving a strong culture of safety across the organization.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role with full ownership of safety programs. While there are no direct reports, this position has the authority to enforce safety policies, lead compliance efforts, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory standards
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments in a manufacturing environment
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs and required compliance documentation
- Serve as the primary contact for safety inspections and regulatory agencies
- Enforce safety policies and compliance across all levels of the organization
- Identify hazards and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors
- Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on safe work practices
- Promote a proactive, safety-first culture on the production floor
- Develop and deliver company training programs
- Coordinate onboarding safety training for new hires
- Track training completion and ensure compliance with required certifications
- Evaluate and improve training effectiveness
- Manage PPE and safety equipment programs
- Oversee key safety programs, including:
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Respiratory protection and fit testing
- Hearing conservation
- Hazard communication (SDS, chemical inventory)
- Support workers’ compensation reporting, documentation, and follow-up
- Partner with HR on onboarding, compliance tracking, and employee training initiatives
- Support a positive, engaged, and safety-focused workplace culture
- 3–5 years of safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, fabrication, or production environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Experience with programs such as LOTO, PPE, hazard communication, and industrial safety systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Human Resources, or related field preferred
- HR experience (training, compliance, employee relations) is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and enforce safety standards without direct authority
- Excellent organization and attention to detail

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
