To view benefits available to all State of Texas employees visit the Employee Retirement Systems website at https://ers.texas.gov/benefits-at-a-glance.Job DescriptionThe Railroad Commission of Texas, recognized as a worldwide leader in the regulation of oil and gas exploration, seeks an advanced level Administrative Assistant for the Pampa District Office, Field Operations Section of the Oil and Gas Division.Primary duties include receiving technical reports/data from the oil and gas industry, processing the reports/data, and disseminating to the appropriate department. This role also coordinates with office staff to maintain timely and detailed updates to the databases that facilitates in the officeand#8217;s analysis and planning. Essential Job Dutiesand#8226;Answer and operate complex telephone system and refer callers to the appropriate offices.and#8226;Communicate information, policy, rules, and regulations with field personnel and technical staff.and#8226;Receive work orders from industry and post notifications to appropriate Oracle database or tracking spreadsheets (Excel).and#8226;Organize and maintain various filing systems, which includes well inspection records, permits, violations, and other related records.and#8226;Address telephone inquiries and assist the oil and gas industry and general public with records research and retrieval.and#8226;Conduct mail reviews and route functions to appropriate Oil and Gas business unit.and#8226;Assist in the audit of well completion forms for accuracy and completeness as required by the Railroad Commission of Texas.and#8226;Generate correspondence using (Word) document templates to industry regarding notices of RRC rule violations or requesting additional information.and#8226;Perform additional related essential tasks to maintain workflow.For Military Crosswalk information please visit:https://hr.sao.texas.gov/Compensation/MilitaryCrosswalk/MOSC_AdministrativeSupport.pdf

Qualifications: Minimum Qualificationsand#8226;High school diploma or equivalentand#8226;Two years of experience working in a business administration office or professional setting.and#8226;Experience and education may be substituted, on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Qualificationsand#8226;Five years of experience in business office practices and communicating rules, policies, and procedures.and#8226;Five years of experience in composing business documents with effective use of grammar, reading, and comprehension, and approp iate audience content.and#8226;Experience maintaining hard copy and digital records and updating and organizing filing systems.and#8226;Knowledge of oil and gas operations and familiarity with Railroad Commission rules and regulations.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitiesand#8226;Working knowledge of basic/high-school level mathematics.and#8226;Working knowledge of a telephone switchboard or console.and#8226;Knowledge of professional protocol.and#8226;Skill in attention to detail and in providing accurate information.and#8226;Skill in operating standard office equipment.and#8226;Skill in organizing information.and#8226;Ability to accurately file documents, retrieve files, and pack files.and#8226;Ability to operate a computer, Windows-based software, and databases.and#8226;Ability to follow brief oral and written instructions.and#8226;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.and#8226;Ability to listen, understand, and relay material clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.and#8226;Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.and#8226;Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor.and#8226;Ability to work overtime, and flexible hours and to be available for on-call duty.and#8226;Ability to maintain punctual and keep regular attendance.and#8226;Ability to work effectively on a team, individually and as a member.and#8226;Ability to exercise tact and courtesy.and#8226;Ability to stoop, reach low and high, push and pull heavy file drawers and/or cart, and lift, carry and move up to 30 lbs. and#8226;Possess a valid Texas Driverand#8217;s license and a good driving record.Work Hours and Telework:Standard office hours for Commission employees are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our agency offers alternate schedules for employees, as long as it does not adversely affect operations and service levels, and standard hours of operation are maintained. The Commission may also offer telework based on the agencyand#8217;s approved Telework Plan.
