- Lead or support root cause analysis for safety incidents, quality defects, or production disruptions using tools such as 5 Whys or Fishbone Diagrams.

- Assist in the development, revision, and implementation of manufacturing procedures and standard work instructions, ensuring best practices and regulatory compliance.

- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support smooth execution of make-to-order production schedules.

- Provide guidance and support to team members, promote a positive labor-management relationship, and ensure adherence to the collective agreement.

- Monitor key metrics such as labor efficiency, scrap, rework, and downtime; identify trends and propose corrective actions.

- Maintain accurate documentation related to work orders, safety inspections, and quality checks.

- Support continuous improvement activities, including Lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.

Requirements:

- Post-secondary education is an asset (e.g., in fields such as Manufacturing).

- Completion of leadership development courses and certificate programs is an asset.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with proven success in a unionized manufacturing environment.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.

- Skilled in problem-solving techniques and driving root cause investigations.

- Demonstrate knowledge of Lean methodologies, Six Sigma principles and improvement methodologies.

- Strong organizational and communication skills; able to coordinate effectively across departments.

- Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

- Understanding of aluminum conductors, insulation, annealing and wire draw process is an asset.
