We are looking for a hands‑on Production Manager who thrives on the shop floor, leads from the front, and knows how to turn schedules into shipped product.

Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for leading daily execution across our tank shop operations, with support and coordination for parts shop activities. This role is critical to ensuring jobs flow efficiently from release to completion while meeting quality, safety, delivery, and labor efficiency targets.

This is not a desk‑only role. The right candidate will be visible on the floor, actively removing obstacles, driving accountability, and developing strong shop leadership.

This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and has a clear growth path within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Own day‑to‑day production execution across operations

- Drive schedule adherence, labor efficiency, and throughput while identifying and eliminating bottlenecks

- Ensure all materials, drawings, travelers, and resources are ready before work starts

- Partner closely with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to adjust schedules and priorities as conditions change

- Maintain real‑time visibility of production status, risks, and constraints

- Lead directly from the shop floor, setting expectations for safety, quality, and productivity

- Develop shop employees into leads and supervisors, building a culture of accountability, training, and internal promotion

- Ensure compliance with API, ASME, and internal quality standards

- Take decisive action to recover schedules and mitigate disruptions when issues arise

- Reinforce safety practices and ensure work is performed according to company and regulatory standards

QualificationsRequired (Non‑Negotiable)

- 7+ years of proven leadership experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment

- Experience managing production in fabrication, welding, or heavy steel manufacturing

- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop shop floor employees into leads and supervisors

- Strong understanding of production scheduling, labor efficiency, and workflow management

- Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively in a dynamic shop environment

Preferred

- Experience in engineered‑to‑order manufacturing

- Familiarity with API and/or ASME code environments

- Background in tank, vessel, or skid fabrication

- Strong communication skills across operations, planning, and engineering teams

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
