For more than 20 years Spray Enclosure Technologies has been a leading manufacturer of spray booths, ovens, and heated air make up unitse for industry. We are currently recruiting for our Production Manager Position and candidates should have an understanding of fabricating sheet metal and related equipment, such as CNC press brake, punch press, laser cutters, and welding methods. The ability to understand drawings is critical.
Our Production Manager’s objective is to drive: continuous improvement; optimization of all production processes; manufacturing strategies to accomplish organizational goals; and effective return on capital. Be responsible for the overall supervision of the operational systems of the plant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning, organizing, and regulating the production and maintenance operations. The Production Manager will have the key skills to develop processes that maximize safety, quality and productivity.
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
- Directly supervise production floor staff
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results, to include but not limited to manpower, facilities, equipment, materials and processes
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
- Build a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
- Form effective business relationships with other department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production and shipping
- Coordinate and direct operations to ensure compliance with plant policies and procedures
- Collect and analyze data to identify areas of waste, overtime, and concentrate on fact-based problem solving
- Administer assessments of employee performance
- Commit to plant safety procedures
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Address employees’ issues or grievances in a timely manner
- Stay up-to-date with the latest production management best practices and concepts
- A minimum of 5 years plant management level experience in manufacturing and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related discipline is preferred.
- Mechanical Engineer degree preferred.
- Process Engineer experience.
- Proven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication equipment and technical expertise in related processes
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
- Computer literacy
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
